Late I know SORRY!

So I am 3 days late in updating this sorry! It was a week of excitement and being super busy.

We are now in week 22.

Obviously in week 21 we found out that our gummi bear was a little boy! We are still so thrilled. Kelly got a call the day after our ulstrasound that she needs to go back on Tues because they forgot to take a view of the internal stomach. We are hoping this means she will get more pictures of our little man!

Kelly has really started to pop even strangers are now asking when she is due. I think she looks so beautfil pregnant and her legs and arms are still so tiny she doesn't even look pregnant from behind.

The other night she had her first weird food craving. We were on the way to the store and she was to send me in alone for the goods. In the parking lot she declared " I really want some vanilla ice cream, a coke in a can, an apple and some cheese. trust me she ate it all too!

I settled for something more subtle.

We also got oru first baby outfit from a dear friend of ours Ashley Bartley, It is very cute and we can't wait until we can put our little one in it!

Kelly can now feel all his squrims and stretches and kicks. I can't wait until it's my turn.

Here is week 21 belly shot.

The next blog might be late because we have the US again on tues which is also belly picture day and the start of week 23 and the next day is our regular monthly prenatal visit so rather than write 3 of them I will just do a big long one with Kelly's 23 week belly.

until next time,

Sean

A Baby Boy

Well the Rae tradition continues!!!

We had our 21 week ultrasound tonight. Sorry for the delay but I had to go feed and take care of my other children (the horses).

Anyways the appointment was WONDERFUL. Kelly laid there and I got to sit front row and watch the screen. The woman was very nice and told us everything we were looking at.

We first got to see his head and they measured his brain, then into the kidneys, lungs, heart, diaphragm etc. They Doctor then asked if we wanted to know, we both said YES! So she started scannin from underneath at first I saw nothing and thought girl? But didn't say anything out loud then she turned her wrist and there it was! Made poppa pretty proud HAHA she then asked did you see something and I replied a little too loudly " IT'S A BOY!.

The Doctor chuckled and said "YEp there is no denying THAT and zoomed in on his man parts. A big boy haha!

the rest of the ultrasound was kind of a blur because I was so excited and couldn't stop smiling.

She said everything looked great and from the U/S that he was measure almost 22 weeks along which is about 1 week ahead of what we thought, but Kelly and I are both big people so it's not too alarming. We are absolutley thrilled that the baby is healthy and was jumping around with very long legs during the U/S.

I will post a few pictures below. He already looks so handsome and I think he will be very attractive like his mother! Now the name Saga begins we will make another post when we choose one!

I cannot wait to meet my son and teach him so many things about being a good man!

Half way DONE

That's right today was day 1 of week 21 meaning week 20 is now behind us and we are half way there! So exciting, i was telling kelly she will probably wish the last 20 were as easy as the first 20.

The belly is definitely growing, even some of her early maternity shirts are starting to 'ride up'. I can't imagine what it's going to be like in 4 months!

Kelly has been having a lot of back aches and I finally caved and gave her about a 15 minute massage. It makes my hands super tired since I have a little bit of early arthritis from all my horse injuries and doing way too many front hand springs as a kid. It is worth it though she sleeps way better, felt better at work and let me tell you happy prego lady equals husband continuing to live.

I spent a few hours last night watching youtube videos of laughing babies. I know there will be sleepless nights, poop and snot and pee everywhere, but I CANNOT wait for those moments when our baby is laughing hysterically or trying to dance to music. So precious.

We got some more baby books sent to us this week, one has a lot of cute baby pictures with quotes. The one quote I found so true said something like " being a parent is the most courageous thing you can do, you are choosing to let your heart walk around outside your body for the rest of your life."

That is so true, I can't imagine loving this little being more thant I already do and we haven't even met yet!

Another book was Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy. It is so hysterical Kelly and I can't put it down. Just an FYI though it is pretty crude and not for everyone.

So best news for last. Kelly finally felt our gummi bear move just little "flutterings" no big kicks yet, but she is relieved and excited no less.

I am very jealous because I have to wait until it really gets kicking to feel it, but I am glad it is moving around and telling us it's okay!

We now only have 5 days left of not knowing what we are having. Our appointment is monday at 4:45 We are so excited, I don't know if I will be able to hold my bladder on the way there!

We are planning to share with everyone so no worries. Maybe we can find a creative way to do it?

The week is either going to fly by or crawl, not sure yet. Will blog again once we know. Say a prayer for a healthy normal baby on the ultrasound.

Check out Kelly's blog and her side of the story, but don't ditch me on here! http://seankellybaby.blogspot.com/

ONE week...til we are HALF WAY!

Whoo time is just chugging along. The first week of the new year is almost behind us. I didn't make any resolutions this year so I don't feel too guilty about the first week.

Next Tues Kelly will be 20 weeks pregnant and starting week 21. That means we just finished week 19.

The belly has continued to grow and i'd say most people who knew Kelly would take one look and say congrats when are you due?

It is still at the stage where Kelly doesn't think it is so adorable, but I love it. It is a little round ball and inside my unborn child is growing away!! Very thrilling.

Kelly has started to have a bit of trouble sleeping at night, finding a comfortable position seems harder each day and back pain is constant. She thought she felt a little flutter in her belly the other day. I cannot wait until it really starts going crazy and I can feel it too.

We go back to our doctor on January 19th later in the afternoon for the halfway ultrasound, we will be checking fetal development and most exciting finding out if it is a little girl gummi or a boy gummi.

Not much else to write yet. The net blog should be pretty exciting. Thirteen more days!

until then...here is week 19 belly shot.

Third Prenatal Visit

Today was our third visit to the doctors. It was funny we spent more time in the car and waiting area than in the actual appointment.

Kelly has put on 10 lbs since the started of this all, which is a good steady gain.

Her blood pressure was excellent again and that is always nice.

We opted not to do a quad screen because they can be wrong, but mostly because either way we will love what we have and take care of it all the same. Why make the rest of the pregnancy miserable by worrying. our nurse actually said : 'You opted out, that's what I did too." She is always so great!

The doctor assured Kelly that is would probably be sometime in the next 2 weeks when she would first feel the baby move.

He ended it by letting us hear the heartbeat again which was a healthy and strong 151 beats per minute.

I hate being wrong more than anything but lately I have been feeling girl vibes, I can't explain why and I will be thrilled with either as long as it is healthy!

Sorry no good pictures for today.

Next blog will be the baby's first movements or our ultrasound and GENDER ANNOUNCEMENT! Very exciting!!

18 weeks done..onto 19

So I feel liked I am a blogaholic, a blog yesterday, one today, and definitely one tomorrow! Then maybe you will get a break!

We are still very excited today about Lance and Jenny's news.

Week 18 brought more growing belly, more backaches, and of course hunger and tiredness for poor Kelly who had to return to work after a little winter vacation time.

Not much to report this week, Kelly's bell is definitely getting bigger and just about to the point where total strangers would know she is pregnant. She has started to waddle a little like a duck and I love it!

I am still listening and talking to the baby. I hear little noises like popcorn popping but they may just be sounds of digestion. We still haven't felt the first kick. I sort of wish people would stop asking Kelly about it, as she is starting to worry about it. We know it is normal to not feel it until up to 22 weeks or more, but still ....

We PROMISE we will blog about it when it happens!

Tomorrow we go in for our next regular monthly visit, this will be our 3rd and we are 18 weeks and 1 day pregnant tomorrow.

I will blog about tomorrows visit when we get home.

Until then here is this evenings pre-dinner mommy belly.

18 weeks done, almost half way!!!

Soon...Jumbo sized gummi bear,

-Daddy (with ear to mama's belly)

The OTHER Rae on the way

so you may recall from a previous post I mentioned that my older brother Lance and his Wife Jenny were expecting as well.

Kelly and I must admit we were so jealous that they got to have their gender ultrasound today. We are even more thrilled to share that they are expecting a boy!!!!.

We have to wait until the 3rd week of January to find out what we are having. They also moved up Jenny's due date so these cousins may not be as close as we once thought.

Also i realized today that if Kelly and I have a girl we will be the first in the immediate family who did not have a son first. My dad had 4 boys, my oldest brother a boy then a girl and now Lance and Jenny expecting a boy. Will we break the mold? only 20 days til we know.

Well I will post Kelly's 18 week belly picture tomorrow, but for now here is a photo of my nephew in the wombLogan Alexander Rae , already so handsome. He should be tall with dark hair and blue eyes, will need to beat the ladies off with a stick!!
