The countdown begins

Well we just finished week 26 on Tuesday and are in week 27. We finally broke into the double digits and as I write this blog we officially have 95 days until our official due date! Now we could go past that but we could also deliver before that too!!!!

This week was more of the same. Lots of Jackson bouncing around in Kelly's tummy. The books all say he can hear now. So I try to talk to him more and see if I can get a reaction. I have been dreaming about my little boy a lot lately. It makes my heart swell everytime I imagine all the wonderful memories we will make!

Kelly went to an appointment on wed. She had her blood drawn to test for gestational diabetes and she will hear back in a few days on the results. It was the first appointment that I missed and was sad I didn't get to hear Jacksons heartbeat this month!

Here is a picture of Kelly's belly at the end of week 26.

Until next week.....

Oh boy where did 3 weeks go????

I know I know. THREE WEEKS

How does it fly by? Honestly Kelly and I have been going non stop and just been too tired and lazy to keep up. We vow to be better from now on.
I will try to summarize and bring up the important parts of the last 3 weeks as best I can.

In week 23 Kelly's belly button finally popped outwards and I got to feel Jackson kicking away inside mommy's belly. So neat knowing he is dancing around in there.

This was the last week of the honeymoon for Kelly so to speak. the second trimester was wonderful she had energy, felt good, and had been super happy all the time.

This was her end of week 23 Belly.

In week 24 we were so blessed to get so many baby outfits and odd and ends from both Kelly and I's mothers. This baby is gonna be spoiled by two wonderful grandmas!

In week 24 Kelly became ravenously hungry again. It was like flashbacks to 15 weeks pregnant when she had to eat literally every 2 hours. Regardless, she still has kept a lovely figure and is all belly and glowing!

We got more clothes sent to us by family and our dear friend Ashley. I knew nothing would fit in Kelly's closet so I hung the baby stuff in mine. it was so surreal to see this tiny lilttle shirts next to mine, and to think " oh my God, my son is going to be here soon!" I think is tickled Kelly as well so she took a picture of it.

A cool thing happened to Kelly this week. She was in the bathtub and Jackson let out a big kick and it sent ripples across the water!!!
Here is the end of week 24 belly shot and a picture with Kelly's face showing how gorgeous she is!

Week 25 came and went fast as well. Kelly is starting to waddle even more, and that belly button just keeps pushing out. When Jackson kicks Kelly will lay on her back and we can watch her skin and actually see where he kicks. That is the neatest feeling in the world. I can't wait until we can make out feet and such. How fun! Kelly has been tired again and even felt a bit of morning sickness, they say the 3rd trimester is a lot like the first and we can see why now. Technically we aren't in it until week 27, but I guess it came early. I am trying to just be comforting to her and remind her that it's not good for her nor the baby to stress. I really love this woman and admire her for working full time through her pregnancy. Which includes getting up at 5 AM every morning and getting home near 7 pm. She is my super sexy hero!

My little brother came up for a visit and brought us a bassinett from my mothers house. It is really nice and we are lucky we get to borrow it. Since diapers are so spendy anything we can borrow or have has been such a blessing!

Jackson kicks are now getting higher and Kelly's belly is expanding rapidly again so we know the little booger is really growing! I was just thinking WOW he is going to be here in 12 or so weeks! Not long at all! Well for the father anyway, I am not carrying him around, Kelly might feel differently =).
We finally registered on http://www.babiesrus.com/ and actually got our first gift, a baby bjorn carrier from Kelly's coworkers Scott and Jessica. That was so kind of them and we hear they are expecting a little boy not too long after ours is due.
Here is the end of week 25 belly shot, we tried to have more fun this time, we compared Belly's in one picture and took one of the belly head on! Hope you enjoy...

Ok that's it for now. I WILL stay up to date as best as possible from now on.

We are now in week 26 and Kelly will have the glucose test on the 25th.

Look for a new picture on tues. The countdown will begin soon! We are almost down to double digits for the days left!

until next time

Late again it was a busy week SORRY!

Oh boy much to write if I can only remember it all. We had a two time olympian at our barn this weekend for a clinic so I was all caught up in that.

Here is the week 22 recap.

We went back for a prenatal visit on the 28th. It was the first time we have ever had to wait for 15 mins in the waiting room and then have Kelly get weighed. She has only gained 12 lbs so far and looks so fit and thin everywhere else although she doesn't think so.

My mom can't believe how small both Kelly and Jenny are at almost 6months pregnant, but they are both very tall and thin women.

We then waited another 35 mins in the room and I joked to Kelly " He probably had to go deliver a baby" Sure enough the nurse pops in to say he will be a little late one of his patients is in labor!

Finally he came in and it kills us because Kelly takes time off work and we drive all the way there wait 45 mins and the appointment is literally 7 minutes long. He told us the ultrasound review was perfect and things looked good

Jackson measures one week ahead of our due date but as long as it is under 2 weeks they keep the original due date.

He listened to the heartbeat and Jackson must have been sleeping because it was the first time he has ever been nelow 150 bpm.

He then measured Kelly's uterus and she is about 23 cm from pubic bone to top of the uterus. Right on schedule!

At our next visit in a month Kelly gets to drink the glucacola and be tested for gestational diabetes, the drink does not sound very appealing.

At the end of the visit we got to book all of our future appointments and it looks like we will be there a lot towards the end.

Jackson has really started to go wild lately, jumping kicking and playing especially around dinner time and whenever Kelly wants to go to bed.

I have got to feel a few tiny kicks here and there. So exciting!

People keep asking us if we are buying baby things, well not too much yet. I bought 2 nuka baby binkies tonight just because. It was so weird to see them in my pile of things at the grocery store.

I am gonna be a daddy! was all that kept going through my mind as the cashier checked me out.

here is the week 22 Belly shot from last tues. I will give you a week 23 photo tomorrow.

Late I know SORRY!

So I am 3 days late in updating this sorry! It was a week of excitement and being super busy.

We are now in week 22.

Obviously in week 21 we found out that our gummi bear was a little boy! We are still so thrilled. Kelly got a call the day after our ulstrasound that she needs to go back on Tues because they forgot to take a view of the internal stomach. We are hoping this means she will get more pictures of our little man!

Kelly has really started to pop even strangers are now asking when she is due. I think she looks so beautfil pregnant and her legs and arms are still so tiny she doesn't even look pregnant from behind.

The other night she had her first weird food craving. We were on the way to the store and she was to send me in alone for the goods. In the parking lot she declared " I really want some vanilla ice cream, a coke in a can, an apple and some cheese. trust me she ate it all too!

I settled for something more subtle.

We also got oru first baby outfit from a dear friend of ours Ashley Bartley, It is very cute and we can't wait until we can put our little one in it!

Kelly can now feel all his squrims and stretches and kicks. I can't wait until it's my turn.

Here is week 21 belly shot.

The next blog might be late because we have the US again on tues which is also belly picture day and the start of week 23 and the next day is our regular monthly prenatal visit so rather than write 3 of them I will just do a big long one with Kelly's 23 week belly.

until next time,

Sean

A Baby Boy

Well the Rae tradition continues!!!

We had our 21 week ultrasound tonight. Sorry for the delay but I had to go feed and take care of my other children (the horses).

Anyways the appointment was WONDERFUL. Kelly laid there and I got to sit front row and watch the screen. The woman was very nice and told us everything we were looking at.

We first got to see his head and they measured his brain, then into the kidneys, lungs, heart, diaphragm etc. They Doctor then asked if we wanted to know, we both said YES! So she started scannin from underneath at first I saw nothing and thought girl? But didn't say anything out loud then she turned her wrist and there it was! Made poppa pretty proud HAHA she then asked did you see something and I replied a little too loudly " IT'S A BOY!.

The Doctor chuckled and said "YEp there is no denying THAT and zoomed in on his man parts. A big boy haha!

the rest of the ultrasound was kind of a blur because I was so excited and couldn't stop smiling.

She said everything looked great and from the U/S that he was measure almost 22 weeks along which is about 1 week ahead of what we thought, but Kelly and I are both big people so it's not too alarming. We are absolutley thrilled that the baby is healthy and was jumping around with very long legs during the U/S.

I will post a few pictures below. He already looks so handsome and I think he will be very attractive like his mother! Now the name Saga begins we will make another post when we choose one!

I cannot wait to meet my son and teach him so many things about being a good man!

Half way DONE

That's right today was day 1 of week 21 meaning week 20 is now behind us and we are half way there! So exciting, i was telling kelly she will probably wish the last 20 were as easy as the first 20.

The belly is definitely growing, even some of her early maternity shirts are starting to 'ride up'. I can't imagine what it's going to be like in 4 months!

Kelly has been having a lot of back aches and I finally caved and gave her about a 15 minute massage. It makes my hands super tired since I have a little bit of early arthritis from all my horse injuries and doing way too many front hand springs as a kid. It is worth it though she sleeps way better, felt better at work and let me tell you happy prego lady equals husband continuing to live.

I spent a few hours last night watching youtube videos of laughing babies. I know there will be sleepless nights, poop and snot and pee everywhere, but I CANNOT wait for those moments when our baby is laughing hysterically or trying to dance to music. So precious.

We got some more baby books sent to us this week, one has a lot of cute baby pictures with quotes. The one quote I found so true said something like " being a parent is the most courageous thing you can do, you are choosing to let your heart walk around outside your body for the rest of your life."

That is so true, I can't imagine loving this little being more thant I already do and we haven't even met yet!

Another book was Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy. It is so hysterical Kelly and I can't put it down. Just an FYI though it is pretty crude and not for everyone.

So best news for last. Kelly finally felt our gummi bear move just little "flutterings" no big kicks yet, but she is relieved and excited no less.

I am very jealous because I have to wait until it really gets kicking to feel it, but I am glad it is moving around and telling us it's okay!

We now only have 5 days left of not knowing what we are having. Our appointment is monday at 4:45 We are so excited, I don't know if I will be able to hold my bladder on the way there!

We are planning to share with everyone so no worries. Maybe we can find a creative way to do it?

The week is either going to fly by or crawl, not sure yet. Will blog again once we know. Say a prayer for a healthy normal baby on the ultrasound.

Check out Kelly's blog and her side of the story, but don't ditch me on here! http://seankellybaby.blogspot.com/

Here is baby belly week 20

All for now

ONE week...til we are HALF WAY!

Whoo time is just chugging along. The first week of the new year is almost behind us. I didn't make any resolutions this year so I don't feel too guilty about the first week.

Next Tues Kelly will be 20 weeks pregnant and starting week 21. That means we just finished week 19.

The belly has continued to grow and i'd say most people who knew Kelly would take one look and say congrats when are you due?

It is still at the stage where Kelly doesn't think it is so adorable, but I love it. It is a little round ball and inside my unborn child is growing away!! Very thrilling.

Kelly has started to have a bit of trouble sleeping at night, finding a comfortable position seems harder each day and back pain is constant. She thought she felt a little flutter in her belly the other day. I cannot wait until it really starts going crazy and I can feel it too.

We go back to our doctor on January 19th later in the afternoon for the halfway ultrasound, we will be checking fetal development and most exciting finding out if it is a little girl gummi or a boy gummi.

Not much else to write yet. The net blog should be pretty exciting. Thirteen more days!

until then...here is week 19 belly shot.
